Crash what?

Whoever said you can't win on the net is right! So this isn't a try.

Audi content, I have one.

As for crashed Volvos, as an ex volvo mechanic I've seen them all up to the
early '80s cars.

122s and 140s were built of the thickest f'in metal. We used to cut the roofs
out of the junkers for sheet meatal to patch floors in VW beetles. We would
break air chiesel tips on those cars.

240s were built with more of a safety cage in mind. Thinner metal up front but
tough roofs etc. Crumple zones etc.

740s about the same as 240s though I cut few of those up.

I saw them all. T-boned, front enders and rear enders. One rolled. Very tough.
I don't care for crash tests much. I swa real world results. All I know is you
would want to be in a 4 door Volvo in a side impact. These cars took huge hits
and if wearing belts the people were OK.

How about a 60mph rear ender where the kids could still open the back doors to
get out!

Anyway this isn't to take anything away from our Audis, just what I saw for the
12 yrs I did that work.

My friend Liz with the 87/88 5kq? went from a Civic to her 5k after being hit
by a Mack truck on I95 in the Honda. I don't know why she is alive after that
but no more little tin cars for her.
