WFO switch
I switched,
I made my '88 5ktq switch anyway.
The top two wires in the switch are for the idle circuit and they do click
when opened or shut.
I forget exact specs but you should have closed circuit at idle and then open
infinite ohms when opened.
The bottom two wires are for full throttle. Infinite at idle and ? ohms at full
throttle. I had nothing at full. I took the switch off and cleaned and did a
little adjustment to the contacts. For whatever reason I never got the exact
ohms the book said at full but I got continuity so that matters. So at Full I
get xohms and everywhere else I get infinite.
It isn't a potentiometer so don't expect a range as you test the middle
settings. It is an on/off for idle and on/off for WFO.
The switch was a pain to open. It is now sealed up with black RTV.
I did notice a difference. I've been mening to check to see if it still works
with the meter but......... Someday.
