I had this problem with the passenger door in my '85 5000 S. I bought a used door panel
from Shokan (1-800-all-audi) for $100. There is a plastic panel on the door pull that
pops off, revealing screws which hold the panel on. There are also some screws on the
edge of the door panel. It's an easy 1/2 hour job.
The parts place will need your interior color code found on the inside of the trunk lid.
The first panel I got from Shokan had discolored color panel (smoker's car) but they
replaced it quickly and at no additional charge and the second one was a perfect match.
I had the light grey pinstriped velor interior.
Yes, I know others on the list have had bad experiences with Shokan but I've had good
results on several occasions.
