R-12 AC Maintenance Suggestion

Hey all,
Just got my VW (w/r-12 ac system) back from the shop where I had the ac system
recharged.
I was concerned that something expensive had broke and let all the Freon out.
BUT fortunately it was simply the schraeder valves on bot the hi pressure and lo
pressure sides were LOOSE!

Cost $155 for the evac and recharge.

My suggestion for all of us with schraeder valves on their ac systems to
purchase a valve tool to allow tightening of these as a maintenance task.
Prolly on the order of 2-3 times per year.  Could save ya lots o' freon and
thereby lots of money (stuff was $35/pound).
