Sorry I guess I wrote this too early in the morning. I didn't mean to jump
on you - I just didn't want someone to "create" their own spec by dividing
the tolerance by 2 and adding or subtracting it to the ideal measurement. I
want the others (those that get it within spec too quickly) to suffer like
those of us that spend way too long trying to get it (whatever that may be)
just right and the damn thing still won't start.
I haven't figured out why I threw in the 911 story - it really isn't
appropriate here. But for whatever its worth, I was 31 when I bought my
first 911, a 1976 for $14.5K. Financed as $5K down and 36 payments. Kept it
for four years and traded it in on a '84 Carrera (48 months of payments).
Had that car for 10 years and signed over the title just last night. Sh*t.
Also, by the way hindsight says if I had been able to buy a 911 when I was a
teenager I'd be dead now.
