Several years ago when I priced the muffler system the OEM price was $550 for
each of the two components - front muffler & pipe and rear muffler & rear
pipe. By the way the OEM system is stainless - everything except the metal
case forming the outer shell of the muffler. The muffler sides are stainless
! As a matter of fact when my muffler developed a hole, I just recovered the
muffler case with a sheet of stainless and had a welder tig or mig weld it to
the sides of the muffler. 4 years later its still holding up great.

Finally, as I recall the front pipe is one piece. It looks as if it was
manufactured by starting with a stainless steel pipe, then drilling holes in
it where the muffler will be and finally fabricating a muffler on to the
pipe. I might not have explained this clearly but the pipe is one piece and
shouldn't break where your's did. Not supported properly ???
Whether you can weld it I do not know but everything you're going to weld (if
its original) is stainless. Just find a good welder.
