Power Window Part

I am a Senior at San Diego State University, needless to say I have limited
financial resources.  I have a 1986 4000 CS Quattro.  I have two primary
problems with my power windows.  The first is that the cable in the power
window assembly, of the right front window, has frayed and the window is
stuck in the down position.  The power window motor is fine.  The other
problem is that two of my power window buttons have crapped out.  Where is
the best place to get replacement parts for both of these items.  The cable
looks like the same used as bicycle cables.  If anyone has had similar
experiences with their power window cable assembly, did you do anything
other than just replace the part?
