Identification & some silliness

On a technicality - the fact that we're "foreign-run" is a geographical
accident. We have active members in other countries - you will have seen
two such listed as the area coordinators for Holland, Belgium, etc., and we
treat Ireland as a geographical and not a political entity.

Who knows - this time next year we might have US-based officers. We already
have a Welsh events secretary, and if we can understand _him_ we can understand
anyone.

(Malcolm has solved the "hands on/hands free" carphone conundrum by the simple
expedient of taking his secretary everywhere with him so she can answer the
phone while he's driving. Because quattros are notoriously difficult to
leave gracefully in a skirt, she even wears shorts. Nice one, Malcolm - wish
 we'd thought of that!)

The simple equation is "club = members". The more the committee seeks to
involve the members, the more feedback on direction is available to the
committee. We're governed, BTW, not only by the laws of England but also by
the (somewhat more stringent) regulations of the Royal Automobile Club Motor
Sports Associations - RCA/MSA.

BTW - membership has risen to 509.
