Bomb substitutes...
While through a"Grainger's" industrial supply catalog today, I come
across a part in the piston pump section: the HYDAC Pulsation Damper.
"Hey, it looks like the 'bomb'!" I said. The specs said that it has a
carbon steel body, Buna-N bladder, pre-pressurized to 500 psi, handles
system flows up to 12 GPM and 3000 psi. Maximum temperature 200F.
Not suitable for salt water :-). About 4" in diameter, and 4-5/8"
high, weight of 2 lb. 1/2" NPT port.
Price: $98.
It sure looks like the bomb, feels like the bomb, smells like the
bomb. Is it? Are we paying an extra $100+ just to get some metric
hydraulic hose connection?
