IMVHO, the practical matters here are much more important than the
precise legal terms of the warranty.  If the dealership that you expect
to provide warranty service says it's OK, do it.  Otherwise, don't, not
until you can find another dealership who will be supportive.  I asked
the same question of the guys at my dealership before I had them modify
the UBERWGN, and they said "no problem, we know what we're doing, we'll
see to it that your warranty will be honored."  Without that assurrance
I would not have proceeded regardless of anything I read here.

Of course, if you're gonna do the work yourself, then if you have a
problem and you can quietly un-do the work, you're in good shape too.
