hot shifting
So your car shifts worse when its hot, eh?
Sounds familiar. My 4000q exhibited that tendancy,
which progressed, many years ago.
Turns out, the linkage has a ball-end connector
where the shaft from the shifter meets the shaft
from the tranny itself -- at roughly a right angle.
This doohickey (that's a technical term) allows the
rotating motion of the sifter (when you go let-right with
the lever), to likewise rotate the shaft going into
the tranny, even though they do not line up (or so I think).
very few shops will find it. I can't tell you how many people
wanted to lube the linkage, change the fluid, blah, blah, blah.
One palce wanted to replace the clutch. Uh-huh.
So look behind the engine, deep in the darkest cranny
( I forget exactly where, but follow the linkage forward if you must),
and see if this thing appears to be broken.
