I was never able to understand this logic.  You can divide 360 degrees by
any number.  The only general argument that makes sense to me is "the more
cylinders the smoother the engine (at low rpms especially)".  It's true
that one has to balance cylinder firings *along* the crankshaft, but I
fail to understand that it's easier to do for L4 and V6 than for L5.


On an unrelated note: has anybody bought the "new" 95-series Continentals
already?  My 90-series are getting rather worn. :-(
