for which I expressed my appreciation in a private reply ... It is pretty
obvious that the 'SHIP has BTDT! :-)

Thanks for the heads-up Frank! It turns out I learned about the plastic guide
when I did the clutch on the Fox many moons ago. I did learn one interesting
tidbit ... I went to Carlsen to get the seals, TO bearing, pilot bearing, etc.
and found out that Porsche uses the exact same part in some app. Get this ...
the Porsche part is actually cheaper than the VW part ... both have exactly the
same number and were made by INA. VW part was ~$20, Porsche part <$10! I'll
let everyone know what I find on the sleeve ... I guess if I was smart I would
have checked the new tranny to see! I did buy the parts before I got the de-
livery, so I don't feel too bad ...
BTW, FYI the sleeve P/N is 016 141 181
