RE: ramps

You need longer 2x4s. I place one end of each 2x4 up onto the lower portion of the ramps such that there is no 'gap' and stick smaller blocks under the 2x4s to reduce the flex effect. A more betterer approach would be to use thickerer boards, like 4x6, etc, and cut the ends at an angle to get an easy 'ramp up' onto the board and an easy transition from the board onto the ramp. Cinder block are VERY dangerous if you place a solid part of the car on them and I would not even use them for supporting the tahrs if they are on a hard surface such as concrete or asphalt. They can crumble without warning.

I've tried that. The nature of any ramps I've owned is
that the 2x4s will not butt up close enough to avoid a gap.

Furthermore, they are still too steep, even after the 1 3/4"
increase of the "2" x "4".

I'd sooner go with a series of concrete blocks and 2x8s,
but I'd prefer something more convenient.

thanks for the idea!!
