I really never got past the Boxster story - but just for you I looked up the
advertisement. Its Cherry Hill Imports, Cherry Hill, NJ just "5 minutes from
Philidelphia" Tele - 1-609-665-5370. Car is listed as:
1995 Audi Quattro S6, Green/Ecru, CD $36,995.
IMHO it sounds like a reasonably priced vehicle - I personally would work
them for a couple a grand more. Make sure you're dealing with a 1995.5 vs a
1995 model vehicle. Just as a point of reference I was working with a local
dealer in chicago for a 95.5 S6 Black/Gray, no CD for $41.8 (their asking
price as of July '96) brand new. Deal fell through when I wanted $20 for my
'84 911. They countered $15K, I countered back $18K and they wouldn't budge.
I eventually sold the car as a consignment with a local Porsche dealer. He
sold it in 4.5 hours! I guess it was interesting to see. While the first
guy ( the eventual buyer) was signing the papers a second buyer was waiting
in case the first guy backed out. Furthermore, there were two additional
fellows on their way in to look at my car - a pristine white/can can red '84
911 set up to fly. Needless to say some Audi dealers don't try to make a
deal.
Good luck,
Mark
