'90 Coupe q - spring/ shock conclusion?
*REPOST* of a message that didn't make it from yesterday...
Hi all,
I am at the stage where I NEED Shocks for the Coupe. I am also looking at springs. I would like to firm up the ride a bit, while not sacrificing a good highway ride on the frost heaved roads of Ohio. There was talk a couple weeks ago about the possibilities, was there a conclusion as to "best" spring/ shock combo?
I would also like to lower the car a little bit, not 1 1/2", maybe 1/2 - 3/4", like I said, I don't want to get too extreme, I want to maintain ride and geometry.
Also, on tires I am looking at Dunlop D60 A2s in the ubiquitous 205/60HR15. Anyone have any impressions on these? I currently have Yoko 509s. They seem to be a nice, sticky tire which wear quickly. Will the longer wearing, all-season Dunlops sacrifice a huge amount of cornering grip?
This is the next project I'm tackling. After this - PIAA eliptical driving lights in the grill on either side of the emblem. Hella makes a bolt in grill with driving lights mounted, but they are rectagonal, too angular for car, IMHO. I think the eliptical lights will give the car a very agressive look. Any thoughts?
TIA for any advice/ info...
