Modifications/Voiding Warranties
hello,
well, after waiting for almost a week to hear from my dealer about the
schaumburg throttle body modification, they have finally gotten back to
me. they will gladly do it, as long as i sign a disclaimer. i do not know
exactly what the disclaimer says, i am trying to have them fax me a copy.
they pretty much described it as a void of the warranty if in the future
any problems with the car can be traced back to this modification. my
question is this- the warranty is still intact, correct? i mean, i can
continue to take the car in for routine maintenance, even things that
aren't routine, as long as the throttle body has nothing to do with the
problem. is this a correct assumption? did anyone else who has had this
done have to go through all this hassle? if my dealer is trying to
discourage me from getting this done, they are doing a pretty good job. i
can just imagine them refusing to install new brakes, claiming that the
reason why i need new brakes is because from excessive wear from driving
too fast, all because i had the new throttle body installed (ok, that may
be a stretch). but my dealer IS giving me a hard time. i guess i have to
wait and read what the disclaimer says.
any opinions, suggestions?
thanks everyone
