Forget all that.....  Here are my two suggestions (And they are being 
WELL investigated... NJTH)

For the 4K crowd a two Rotor Mazda 13B/13B turbo... Or a MR 2 Turbo or 
Supercharged 2.0l.....

The the 5K's The Mazda 3 Rotor race engine...... 600BHP here we come and 
a lot light than that Iron lump..........
