Steve,
What I did, was to removed the door panel, and unattach the window mechinism
from the glass.
On the backside bottom of the glass is a "U" clamp.(Probably not the right name)
Slide the clamp of the post, and the window will be free to slide up and down.
Then I used a small radiator clamp to hold the window in the up position.
Worked well, until I got the motor I needed.
