O2 sensor etc... 89' 100 E

Hi all,
So I have spent the entire Sunday fixing door locks and power 
windows. Now they work / I know at least what needs to be fixed.

Next project is to replace O2 sensor and cat. I did crawl under 
the car and saw two (2) white wires running into the O2 sensor. 
I did follow the wires up to the engine compartment along the 
tranny to where they are connected to the connector. BUT, now 
there are three (3) wires, 2 white and 1 black). Since it was 
dark and I was tired last night, I didn't have courage enough to 
continue working on this.

Seem to remember that O2 sensors are either single- or three 
wire type. Three wire type is used when the O2 sensor is 
pre-heated.

Which is correct for the 1989 100 E? I seem to have three wires 
(only 2 to O2 sensor???!!!), but the relay position for 
"pre-heating" is empty and and marked only "200T"). Plan to buy 
a generic O2-sensor at JC Whitney or the like and want to get 
the correct one!
