Yes, the shaft fell in there somewhere.  I need to at least slide
the tranny back enough to clear the pressure plate etc. but it's
not moving very much.  Downpipe...sigh.  I was hoping not to 
have to.

The rubber is looking a bit weathered though.

Ah, so I can just remove the CVJ itself and slide the boot off, 
then repack the CVJ.

Is that really necessary?  The prop shaft seal probably needs to be 
done if I saw it weeping.

The grease in the CVJ looks darker and thicker than what I've
installed before.  Wonder if it's just age.
