Throttle switch update [2]
Hi all..
amazed at the level of response from my posting. Thank you all.
Okay.. since I have 9 minutes to make it to class.. this has to be quick.
Orin, I pulled the switch entirely five minutes ago. Still have the problem.
With the switch entirely removed, the car still idles at around 2k rpm.
However, if I let if sit running for a few.. the idle level seemed to drop.
Unfortunately, I didn't have time to try this out with a fully warmed engine.
I had a half hour break between classes and that's when I pulled the switch.
Trying to get this figured out and corrected before Friday (keeping in mind the
time to order parts if needed) because of a weekend trip.
Now.. some people had some great ideas.. but I really don't understand them
completely. For isntance.. I have a voltmeter and can test resistance. I played
with it a bit already.. testing the switch, but since I have no idea what I'm
doing, it amounted to little more than playing.
I'll write more on people's suggestions when I get out of class at four.
As for testing different circuits, or cleaning the thottle plate with
carb-cleaner, I need more explicit directions on how to do this.
Gotta run to class. More later tonight!

P.S. I scheduled a appointment with my mechanic on Thursday, just in case I
can't figure this darn thing out.
