I suggest that at the least, you put in a high-quality synthetic oil. I
prefer Amsoil, and it flows to -60F. No problem there with extreme cold
temps. I would feel real uncomfortable using anything else, especially
"dino" oil. This is especially important for turbos.
Sorry, other than that, I can't help. I have no info on block heaters. Hope
someone else has that answer for you.
