especially if the "lesser ones" happen to be those arrogant Shmerokees and 
Pathlosers (designed to haul lumber and bricks, but some how hauling 
housewives to a manicurist) - now that is fun to watch indeed! If we only 
could have another winter just like this past one...

I've been watching this discussion for some time now. How did it happen that 
suddenly the M3 was factored in? This is incorrect. If we are talking about  
a small, 2.8L 6 cyl perfomance sedan off the production line, then its A4q 
versus 328i (and A4q wins). If we are talking aboun the same car, but 
tweaked to the high output specs at the in-house performance division of the 
parent factory, then it should be A4qTT30v versus M3 (and I am sure, A4 
would eat M3 for breakfast, lunch and dinner without even burping)!
