D60A2's noisy????
Hey folks,
Well, I was driving on the highway recently and it has been unusually
noisy in the cabin. My father was in the car and I asked him about it. He to
ld me to put it in neutral (on the highway), the noisy continued the same, and
he told me it was a bad front wheel bearing. So, I left it at home, and took t
he old truck back to school. My dad told me he would take it into the shop and
have the wheel bearings replaced. Anyways, the wheel bearings seemed to be log
ical since my car has about 100K miles on it, and they usually go at this time.
Anyways, to make a long story short, I talked to my father last night and he to
ld me that he took my car into the shop and my mechanic checked it out thorough
ly and told him that the wheel bearings and all the suspension stuff is fine.
He seemed to think that it was the tires, and that they might need to be rotate
d. Well, does this make sense to anyone else? BTW, the car is a 5000CSTQ.
Well, these tires are noisy (if that is indeed what it is)! These ti
res are only 3 months old, and on back roads....I love them! Man, they handle
great, dry or wet! But, this noise bothers me. Do you think it just needs to
be re-balanced? I ordered the tires from Tire Rack and had them mounted and ba
lanced by Gran Turismo East, a tire and brake specialty shop that specializes i
n high performance and race cars. One of the cars there last time I was in the
re was a 427 Cobra. Anyways, thier alighnment guy has been there since 1976 an
d he knows how to do an alighnment, and everything seems OK. Are these tires j
ust generically noisy, or is there something wrong here? Any reccomendations?

Dan
