Re: PAP

Mark, THANK YOU!

Finally somebody has risen a stink about the way PAP treats customers.

Here's what happened to me:

Last summer my radiator expansion tank expanded erupting all its contents.
At that time a PAP's flier landed in my box, where it was listed for about
$28 new-don't remember exactly. I've called immediately and the counter
person said that (lucky me!) they had one left - this notion bears some
importance for the developement of the story.

It had indeed arrived several days later, but, alas, it had a crack deep in
the thickness of the wall. No doubt it would have cracked after the first
temp expansion cycle.
I called them back and they agreed to replace it, so I've sent the tank
back.

10 days later I have received the new one with exactly the same old crack on
exactly the same old spot spot. Sh**t, it WAS the same part! Remember the
notion about it being the last one? And 10 days equals to ground UPS to and
from PAP with the same part. Somehow I get extremely uncomfortable when
being taken for a moron, point blank.

By that time I've been without my car for two weeks and still without the
part. I was also charged several shippings. That was making the total cost
simply unreasonable.

I've called them up, POLITELY explained that I was wery disappointed by the
way they conduct business and demanded the refund, shipping included. The
counterperson asked me to talk to the owner (whatever his name was).
That owner told me that he would refund the purchasing price sans those
shipping charges. At that point I've threatened to write to my card and
place the whole transaction into the dispute. His reply was something like:
"go ahead if you decided to play an a**hole I dont need customers like you
here" etc. Naturaly I hung up on him and went through the credit card.

Up until now even in my wildest nightmares I can't imagine that it is
possible to call a customer an a**hole!!!!!

The funniest part was that the same day I drove to my friendly Audi dealer
(Holbert's - I would highly recomend them if you are in the area) and got
the tank for ......$21! I wish I knew.
