A4Q owner update
Just about a month old with a little over 1K miles:
Only a two minor problems--When the car was delivered from the dealer they missed the fact
that both driver door speakers were not working. (turned out to be a disconnected jack going
to the BOSE radio) The other problem is the driver side windshield wiper makes a sharp "whap"
sound just as it reverses from its left most swing towards the "a" pillar. Just noticed this
about a week ago since it had not rained since I took delivery. The wiper looks OK but I am
going to have the dealer replace it to see if this goes away. I originally thought it might be
caused by an overtravel of the wiper swing radius thus hitting the pillar but this was not confirmed
by close observation.
Has anyone "improved" the FM reception/sound of the BOSE system thru antenna boosters or other? I had
a dynamite factory BOSE system in my 91 Nissan Maxima SE and this A4Q version sounds very inferior in
comparision. Probably could use some more power and better speakers...Any suggestions?
Has anyone added on a CD changer (besides the dealer Alpine unit) the the BOSE system? Not the RF modulated
type hookup.
Just changed the oil for the first time--Deutch Filter #D572 and Pennzoil 5w-30. Are ther any non Audi
air filters available?
For the past two weeks I have been running on regular gas (87 octane) without any noticible
performance / milage hits.
Has anyone run Blizzak snow tires on the A4Q during winter. Got a steel wheel / tire quote from the Tire
Rack for $529 delivered & mounted. They speced downsized wheels to 15" with 195/60-15 tires.
BTW-I am running 40 PSI in my stock Goodyear RS/A tires (which is the maximum pressue for this car) and the
handling is very crisp.
Any suggestions on low brake dust replacement pads?
