Al,

It was my understanding, (and I'm sure I'll get corrected if I'm wrong
<grin>) that unless you're planning on pushing the envelope fairly far,
you should need to worry about the tire's speed rating. After all, an
"H" rating is something like 113 MPH. For the funny tire wear, you
might want to double-check the air pressure. I've found that D60's like
it much better a bit above the pressure marked on your car or the
sidewall of the tire. I usually run ~40psi on mine. YMMV

Unless you're planning to spend alot of time at or above 113 you
shouldn't need to go to "V" rated tires. I spend multiple days on the
track each year, am not know for sedentary driving, and occasionally run
a sprint around 110-120 mph and haven't had a problem with my D60's.
I'm breaking in my fourth set now.

FWIW, I know that Eric Fletcher (STEADIRIC) runs D60's on his monster,
and I'm sure that it sees speeds in that region _occasionally_. ;-)

HTH!
