Only if it were slowly dropping ALL the way to the floor( I dealt with this
many times on various cars).

Oh, then it means that the bomb replacement is at least one year overdue.
When the bomb starts to go it feels EXACTLY like an internal leak in the
master cylinder, the pedal becomes spongy and gives gradualy with vibration
with no fluid coming out. I lerned this the hard way: the first time I had
this problem on my first Audi I replaced the master cylinder in vain ($130
thrown away).

BTW, the first sign of the bomb begining to go is when the brake light stays
on for several seconds after you start the car. Then it goes out. Its the
sensor in the brake servo reporting that the pressure in the bomb has
exceeded the pre-set level and it has become operable (or not). When the N2
the bomb was filled with, diffuses through the membranes ,the bomb loses its
counter pressure. It takes longer for the brake sys to develop the pressure
the computer wants to see - that is reflected by the light staying on for a
longer period of time than it is normal.

When it happened on my 200 2 mos ago (the light was just beggining to stay
on longer on the start up, may be by a couple of seconds only and the pedal
decided to travel twice as long, not to the floor, though) I immediately
knew it was a bomb. Now, $275 later the pedal is firm again and the lite
goes out immediately after the start up.
