DIN radio in A4

Hi all,

Recently there was a thread on fitting a DIN-size radio head unit in an A4.
On A4s (and A3s) without the factory stereo there is a cover plate flanked
by two fillets. If you take the cover plate out a DIN unit will fit
exactly, and for a factory item take out the fillets too. You should be
able to get these fillets from your dealer... I tried but couldn't get a
part number. They wouldn't even take the trouble of looking it up for such
a small and cheap (?) part. Now if I ordered a radio with that...
because of high taxes on factory-fitted accessories not a lot of people buy
a factory stereo here. You can get a top-of-the-line aftermarket CD unit
for the price of a factory cassette here... what price the Audi logo on
your stereo?
