A fairly common cause of this is actually just a poor connection on the 
fuel pressure regulator, or the ground wire that comes out of that 
connector and attaches (usually) to the air accumulater on the intake 
manifold.   Try checking the connector first as I have seen more of those 
that the connectionn was loose, ie. the metal inside the connector was 
seperated too far.
