Re: Audi parts @ Radio Shack?

Hi,Chris,
you are asking:

>What is Mica? Is it used as insulation?

Yes. It is essentialy a crystal mineral that can be split up in the wery thin
transparent sheets. It is the insulation of choice for high temperature
applications in the electronic industry.

>I guess an ordinary solder won't work? Too much heat?

Correct.

>Another question: is the resistor pack located on the blower motor casing
>itself?

No. It is fastened to the LF longitudinal member for heat dissipation, between the
radiator/condenser and the LF headlight. You will have to remove the plastic
radiator cover. It looks like a piece of an aluminium angle, anodized, usually
purple or yellow, about 15-20cm long with three heavy gauge wires bolted to its
three terminals.
