AC drain
Someone recently indicated that he was looking for the mystery
condensation drain line from the air conditioning system. I was
checking mine for blockage this last weekend. The molded hose on my
'88 90Q is just to the right of the center console and just to the
left of some electronics module (didn't check to determine which one)
behind the glove compartment. The rug will have to be disturbed
somewhat as I recall to get good access. I also disconnected the
module to ease access. FWIW, my hose was functional, so it is not the
cause of the swamp/dead rat/boiled-down-cigar-residue smell I got this
summer. From above the engine compartment I was unable to see or feel
this this hose, so evidently it is well below the battery.
Incidently, I resisted the urge to pull the blower fan at that time
for an interior inspection. It did look like an interference fit with
the air duct above the glove compartment. Perhaps it can be backed
out partially and the area inspected via the outside air plenum. Has
anyone had success pulling this fan. One recent contributor (don't
have my notes handy) to this group indicated it was a nightmare.
My glove compartment attachment screws were mostly missing, consistent
with many others associated with various parts I've investigated since
I bought the car (June 96). Also missing was the right piece of sheet
metal that has indentations for the screws and a rubber bumper.
Anyone have a wreck they'd sell such a part from?
TIA
