I know the car that you are talking about.  I know the guy that
owned that car (he had the urq flares grafted onto a 4000Q, and
transplanted the urq turbo drivetrain, suspension, etc. as well).
Unfortunately, that car was destroyed in an accident shortly after the
magazine article came out (it was still called VW&Porsche back then).
He now drives an urquattro, the last time I saw it, it was kinda beat
up looking...

Anyway, quite a few parts from that very special 4000Q had found their
way into my 4000, including the instrument cluster and front and rear
seats.  I had them reupholstered in grey leather.  My web page has
