quattro call the 200.
==>in 1992 Audi iintroduced the new body style and called it the 100. They
also introduced a successor to the 200 (but really the same car under the
skiin) which they called the S4.
==>in 1995 (I think) Audi changed the name for the basic 100 to call it the
A6, at the same time they introduced the A4, which replaced the Audi 80/90
series. They changed the name of the S4 to the S6.
==>in 1997 (maybe) Audi will introduce high-performance versions of all
three body series. The A4 version will be an S4, the A6 version will be the
S6, and the A8 version will be the S8. The latter two already exist in
Germany.
So, in general terms, the 200 became the S4 became the S6. And now some

The 200 has a distributor, the S4/6 has electronic ignition.
I think the S4 turbo is an upgrade from the 200's(?)
'91 200's had UFO brakes, which were changes to regular setup in S4.
The S4 mirrors create wind noise that was fixed in the S6.
S4 has rubber bumpers, S6 are the silly painted ones.
S4 has the horrid 1-piece 3 lens headlight with the "are they on?" low beams.
The late S6's (95.5) are better.
Turbo to intercooler hose improved over the 200's in the S4, though the
intercooler was placed in a stupid position (under the winshield washer res.)
and has plastic end caps.
Tilt and Telescoping wheel in S4/6, ? in 200.
Car is anonymous, unless in the "arrest me officer" red.
200 seats OK, S4/6 seats super Recaro's!!
16" Z tires OEM on S4/6.
Factory installed upper stress Bar between the shock towers introduced in S4.
Hit the WOT switch at 3800RPM and you better make sure your head is firmly
planted on the head rest! That's why I attached a small pillow to mine!!
