  I have had the some problem in the past and the best possible thing that
I have found is actual wax remover. I don't know where you live, but here
in colorado ther is alot of ski shops and that is where you get it. They
use it to strip old wax off the bottom of ski's. Won't hurt the paint
either and if you do touch the paint with it, just re-wax that area.
