A4Q cost

The dealer cost for a '96 A4Q w/sunroof, cold weather package, and
quattro, including transportation was $26578.  Anyone can go through
Auto-By-Tel on the internet and get an A4 through a local dealer (no
additional transport costs) for 5% over invoice (i.e.,  $1328.90 on the
car above).  Potentially, there can be further negotiation with the dealer. 
In my case the Auto-By-Tel dealer had the exact car I wanted in stock
and had had it for 4 months;  I got the car for 3% over cost (about
$750).  Its an authum red, 5-speed, now with 6000 miles on it and I still
smile every time I drive it.
