They cost about GBP20 (USD30?) for the two side ones (these are the 
 ones that disintegrate) and are VERY easy to put in providing you have 
 some ramps to raise the car to allow you to fit underneath, and axle 
 stands to support the diff while you drop the nuts down a drain hole, 
 lose the washers up your sleeve, forget the order of reassembly etc. 
 (seriously, it shouldn't take more than 1 or 2 hours in total - no 
 special tools required).
