Re: Cone hardware
Rob,
I got my K&N cone for my Coupe from Schamburg Audi (847.843.9975). They had
the best price at $95, but the K&N cone really cost $50, and they charged me
$45 for the mounting hardware (most places wanted around 120-135 for the
set). The mounting hardware is really a rip off. Mine consists of 3 metal
brackets and a couple of bolts for a unit that bolts onto the airbox. I
haven't installed it yet, I'm going to try and get my $45 back because I know
I can do a better job of mounting the switch that is bolted to the airbox
myself. The cone itself bolts straight on to this intake, so the only
mounting you need is for that airflow bypass valve, which can be mounted any
where since it doesn't have anything to do with the stock airbox. I would
also check with Intended acceleration, They didn't have one for my car, but
were very nice to talk to.
