I think this is one you should be able to recover from fairly easily
Dan. The black plastic box is simply a connector, which slides
onto the distributor housing. As I recall it is held in place by
a small plastic pin at the bottom. If you have broken the connector
you will need to procure a replacement, but if not you may be able to
recover by simply plugging the pins back into the appropriate slots
on the connector and sliding it back onto the distributor. You might
want to try sliding the connector back onto the distr, simply remove the
cap and dust shield. If you happen to need the black piece let me know,
I have a replacement distr from an urQ that should have the exact same
connector ...

Sorry that I can't tell you the pinout on the connector. Perhaps
someone else on the list can answer that question. If not I can check
the distributor that I have to get the pinout.

Since we're on the subject, I'm wondering if anyone out there has rebuilt
the distributor on an '83 urQ or similar. My distr has bad bearings. I
have the replacement noted above, which has a fried Hall sender but good
bearings. I got the Hall sensor plate out, but it seems like it'll take
some doing to put it back together again. Am I going to have to remove
the drive gear to be able to get to all the springs and such? TIA!
