... oh Anthony ... Steve Powers has got you in his back pocket ;-)
Most of those people who have the loud Harleys claim that the loud noise
is a form of active safety ... other motorcyclists fear that it will lead
to heavier restrictions on all marques.
With respect to the mileage that HD riders put on their bikes, it is true
that there are a lot of poseurs that show up at the big events with trailered
tricked out HDs (I've gotta get one of the "I trailered my Harley to Bike Week"
T-shirts from Daytona!) but there are also quite a few people I know that go
out on the HOG rides and put a lot of miles on them. I will never own a HD
for the reasons that were stated by others about the way HD does business,
but I did ride a friend's HD and was quite surprised how well it handled
due to the low CG. I don't look down at someone because they choose to *ride*
a Harley ... my sister's ex asks me why I choose to buy Audis (he's really
big on Hondas). One of these days I'm gonna sit down with him and compare
notes on how much time he spends under his older Accord compared to the time
I spend under the qs ... and the 5k has certainly held up a lot better cos-
metically than his car too! I haven't considered him to be worth the effort
so far!
