I have always been of this opionion also, and I'll take it
one step further, I put 90% of the blame for the unintended
accesleration debacle squarely on the shoulders of AoA, with
some of that falling to Ingolostadt.
They did absolutely NOTHING when this thing happened. I
remember that the "media" and "vision of the anointed"
safety "experts" such as Joan Claybrook (yes, Jimmy Carters
old NTSB director who spent $4 million US dollars to develop
a 4 wheel "motorcycle") were starting to go after BMW
for UI, MWB played legal Hardball and scared them off.
AoA et al decided to sit on their hands, and, frankly,
I believe they got exactly what they deserved. I think
Audi continues to exist and succeed despite it's
leadership both at AoA and Deutchland.
My 2cents worth....you get what you pay for.

If you ever loan your Audi Repair Manual to a friend
and need something to pass the time, the book
"The Vision of the Anointed" by Thomas Sowell is a
good way to spend an evening or two. Puts the
self-congratulatory crowd (Nader et al) under the
limelight, and burns them with the truth.
