Yup, its true 924's use an Audi engine.  I'm not positive, but it looks alot
like a 70's 100LS power plant.  I'm sure someone on the list knows all the
details and can tell you more than you would want to know about it.  BTW, AMC
also used Audi engines in the four cylinder Spirit models in the late 70's.
 Hmmm, some Jeep mail cars used them also.

As to the LeBaron GTS, my folks had one and no, it's not a VW engine.  VW did
supply 1.7L carb. engines for the Onmi/Horizon cars for a coupe of years, but
the LeBaron uses the Chrysler four.
