BMW lies, all lies

I have no experience of the US models - though it does seem that Audi
underpower most of their vehicles.

Yup. Right into the nearest hedge.

I _assure_ you, absolutely, that there are very, very few cars as flingable as
an ur-quattro. Those that are do not have BMW badges on. This is _exactly_
where I catch out every BMW driver who thinks he has a fast car - on traffic
islands and very twisty roads. On the latter, I can often drive _in_comfort_
behind a BMW that's barely staying on the road.

(And, just over a week ago, behind a Ford Sierra that didn't.)

Again, for the cognescenti in England, the Plough at Hickling - just south-
east of Nottingham on the Melton Mowbray road - this coming Thursday at 19:30.
Currently expecting 6 urqs, reports on the Ingolstadt trip, and perhaps a
lecture by a recently retired Inspector of the Northamptonshire Police Traffic
Division on how to elude the boys in blue.
