BMW lies, all lies
Well, let's be honest... in the U.S., the BMWs ARE sportier than the Audis.
The A6 is a heavy car and yet only has 172 horses and similar low-end
torque. The BMW 5-series is a good 20% or more above that, and has a
stiffer suspension to boot. The 3-series is generally 1- to 2- seconds
faster to 60 than the A4.
The Audi Quattro drive may be superior for sport driving, but the BMW
engines are funner to drive and, on dry land, the suspension feels funner
too. The Audi is more controllable, but the BMW is more flingable.
However, my A4Q should show up any week now (on order since 15-Aug) - I
consider the Audi virtues superior for daily driving in an area with
constant rain and regular ice (Seattle/Portland area).
