How about installing an oil pressure gauge?
Anyway, your engine was destroyed not because it overheated, but because
it
didn't have a good supply of oil. The increased friction could have
raised
the temp. of the engine, but maybe the cooling system was able to handle
it
and the thermostat kept the water temp. normal. Botom line: your engine
died
because you chose to ignore its warning about oil starvation. Having an
oil
pressure gauge would let you verify if in fact you didn't have any oil.
I know it is to late for your old 4ks, but perhaps this is somethig to
consider for your new A4Q.
