RE: A4 1.8T pricing information
I've included some information for the benefit of the list -- several
people have called
me on the "$1100 Sunroof" crack.
on the 1.8 the "sunroof" package includes:
- sunroof
- remote locking
the items referred to below are included in the "cold weather package"
for ~$800. this includes (from memory)
- heated seats
- ski sack
- outside temp (1.8 only)
- heated other stuff including: door locks, winshield washer nozzles,
etc..
I agree that the sunroof is a cool feature, and the "automatic" nature
of it is almost worth the price of admission but it's one of the first
things
to get tossed in my book when trying to keep the costs (& weight!)
down...
Any way you slice it, $1100 is a big chunk of change, especially
on a car with a $23k base.
We have a new VW Cabrio to properly enjoy the sun, all 3 months of it
here in Seattle.
As for Peter's comment on the glass sunroof -- as long as you have a
grey headliner, this will very closely approximate the "real" view
skyward
in these parts.
Scott.
