yet another tire info request...
all these threads on tires lately, but i'm looking for something different.
my (perceived) requirements:
- front-driver (her adnoH)
- H-rating--may be mostly a commuter car, but i do *drive* it now & then!
- all-season M+S rating
- excellent rain performance--remember--this is Seattle. this car rarely
sees snow, and if the white stuff flies, there's always the 200q (oblig list
ref)
- value for the $
my choices seem to be:
- Dunlop D60A2 JLB--on my 200q, contrary to popular opinion, not a favorable
experience for me--tough to balance.
- Michelin XGT H4--on her car now, older tech, too much $$$
- Pirelli P600 M+S
- Bridgestone RE930
- BFG Comp T/A HR4
- Yok AVID MDH4
i know little about these last four, except that the RE930 and the AVID are
newer (< 1 yr on market) and the folks at Tire Rack seemed hot on
both--interestingly, they didn't push the D60A2 this time. and except for
the Mich ($82) and Yok ($63), none of these tires is over $60 for a
195/60-14 (same size as the 4kcsq--hey, 2nd list ref!). and all except the
Pirelli rate over 300AA or better.
so...any experiences with these last four? TIA.
