Correct me if I'm wrong, but EDL is not a differential locking system as we 
q-nuts understand a differential lock. It is a brake-operating (as opposed to 
throttle) traction control system. All(?) new Audis come with it, FWD and q. 

Evidently it's been available in Europe longer than it has in the States (big 
surprise!!) as the '93 90 manual has a section describing EDL, but then 
naturally there's an add-in leaflet saying that we unfortunate Americans 
aren't yet worthy.
