Ouch! That sounds scary. The Human's idea is great, but I would suggest the
opposite approach. I once read about using the same method, only with a gas,
that would stumble the engine. Unfortunately I don't remember what type of
gas. One of the nobel gases, perhaps. May be He? Any chemists on the list
care to comment?

is so easy though, most people have access to it.

DON'T do it indoors.
Absolutely wear EYE PROTECTION
Start with as little propane flow as possible, set a time limit before
backing off and letting the air clear - like 2 or 3 minutes, before upping
the dosage if necessary.
Wear heavy non-synthetic clothing, gloves.
And, need I say, NO SMOKING!
Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm just not scared enough of some things? I'm
actually looking forward to doing this, Sunday probably.
